Sean Manning grew up on the west coast of Canada and completed a Master’s degree on the revolt of Cyrus the Younger at the University of Calgary in 2013.  He is currently writing a doctoral dissertation on war and soldiers in the Achaemenid empire at the Universität Innsbruck in Austria.  His words on this blog are his own opinion, backed by his judgement as a scholar.
