Sean Manning grew up on the west coast of Canada, moved to Calgary to write a Master’s thesis on the revolt of Cyrus the Younger (2013), and moved to Austria where he was awarded a PhD in November 2018 at the Universität Innsbruck for his work on the Achaemenid empire. His words on this blog are his own opinion, backed by his judgement as a scholar not by an organization or institution.
He is currently unemployed and looking for work in fields like teaching, research, translation, copyediting (and in the medium term perhaps software testing and development).
